I have seen 2-3 different TV ads of ‘bell bajao’ and I was thinking that why there is a need for this kind of publicity. Why so much of the tax money is being wasted like that? Because I have never come across such a situation in my 45 years of life that would have demanded someone to rescue a wife in her home when she is tortured by her husband. I think that it is a total wastage of resources.

Of course, we have to stop the physical abuse of wife promptly, but I think most of the time there are so many other issues involved in such marriage disputes, that the stranger will never understand in a matter of minutes.

But I have come across so many stories and cases I hear from people and details are also available to search on internet when husband and his family members are being tortured by wife due to her inconsiderate behavior and non-cooperation towards other family members. Domestic violence can happen to any of the domestic resident of home, not just the wife. Why are you so much sticking your vision to wife only? It can be the old mother, old father, younger sister of husband who would be living in that home. I don’t think your tv ads have all those characters showing as victims of domestic violence. Please do not be blind and biased especially in your campaign for social justice for women. I hope that all women and men will get the justice and will lead a respectful and proud life in India and our country will be more prosperous and peaceful.

I hope that you will create more Ads to show that many a times its the husband and his family members who become the victims of harassment and torture and they would need immediate help from their community and society.
